How much did Franjo Tuđman Bridge (Dubrovnik) cost to build?
The Franjo Tuđman Bridge carries Croatia's D8 road across Rijeka Dubrovačka at Dubrovnik's western entrance. Approach work began in 1989 but was interrupted by the Croatian War of Independence; the bridge itself was built after work resumed in 1999 and formally opened in May 2002. Croatian Post's technical account, written by a civil engineer, reports an approximate €31.5 million construction cost for the bridge built by Walter Bau and Konstruktor-Split. It records 518.23 m between abutments, a 304 m main span and a 141.5 m cable-stay pylon. The old US$38 million Wikipedia infobox price lacked a cited source. A 2007 photograph shows the completed crossing. Published sources disagree on the exact May 2002 traffic-opening date, so the timeline records only the year.
