How much did Jerusalem Chords Bridge cost to build?
The Jerusalem Chords Bridge (Bridge of Strings) is the cable-stayed bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava at the western entrance to Jerusalem, Israel, suspended from 66 white cables on a spire 118 m high, built from 2005 and inaugurated on 25 June 2008 to carry the light rail and a pedestrian walkway to the Central Bus Station. Haaretz wrote on the day of the inauguration that it was a 73 million dollar bridge, originally planned as a simpler concrete bridge costing 30 million, and Wikipedia gives a cost of 246 million new shekels, about 70 million dollars.
