How much did John Day Dam cost to build?

The John Day Lock and Dam is the concrete gravity dam and navigation lock on the Columbia River between Sherman County, Oregon, and Klickitat County, Washington, 216 miles upstream from the river mouth, owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Portland District, with a powerhouse of 16 Kaplan turbine generators of 155 MW each and one of the five largest hydropower dams in the United States. The Corps' fact sheet gives the total cost at completion as approximately 511 million dollars, as Wikipedia does, with construction from 1958 to 1971, a dedication on 28 September 1968 and the last two units completed in 1972.

Photo by R. W. Rynerson on 1967 Union Pacific RR excursion shows depth of John Day Dam pool, yet to be filled when photo was shot. Columbia River is at far left, old UPRR bridge at left, then old US30 highway bridge closest to rail line. Rail line was relocated to the elevation shown in order to remain above floodwater levels. I-80N highway bridge (today I-84) is to right of locomotive.
