What total mission investment did JPL report for Juno in 2016?
Juno was built to study Jupiter's interior, atmosphere and magnetic environment from a polar orbit. In its 2016 Jupiter-arrival press kit, NASA JPL listed a US$1.13 billion total mission investment covering spacecraft and instruments, launch services, mission operations, data processing and relay support for 78 months. The figure is a 2016 programme estimate, not the cost of the spacecraft alone or every later mission extension.
