How much did King Edward VII Bridge cost to build?

The King Edward VII Bridge is the four-span steel railway bridge over the River Tyne between Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead, England, designed by Charles A. Harrison for the North Eastern Railway and built by the Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Company from 1902, opened by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra on 10 July 1906 and now Grade II listed. The Tyne and Wear Archaeology Officer's Sitelines record says that it cost just over 500,000 pounds, and the LNER Encyclopedia that it eventually cost 500,000 pounds excluding land and permanent way.
