How much does LAX Automated People Mover cost?
The LAX Automated People Mover is the driverless train and station system being built to link the terminals of Los Angeles International Airport with a rental car centre and a Metro connection, part of the airport's roughly 30 billion dollar renovation plan. The City Council approved a 4.9 billion dollar contract for the LINXS consortium to design, build, finance, operate and maintain it over 30 years. The Los Angeles Times reported in September 2026 that the long-delayed 3.3 billion dollar people mover was not expected to carry passengers until at least early January 2027.
