How much was Lungmen Nuclear Power Plant expected to cost?

The Lungmen Nuclear Power Plant (Fourth Nuclear Power Plant) in New Taipei, Taiwan, is the two-unit plant of 2 x 1,350 MWe Advanced Boiling Water Reactors of Taipower, whose work began in 1999 with an initial completion target of 2004, whose unit 1 was sealed in July 2015, whose start-up Taipower ruled out in February 2019 and whose restart was rejected by a majority of voters in a referendum in December 2021. The World Nuclear Association says almost NT$ 300 billion (USD 9.9 billion) has been spent on the project, while Taipower said in March 2009 that an extra NT$ 40 to 50 billion would bring construction costs to NT$ 270 to 280 billion.
