How much did the Manhattan Bridge cost to build?
The Manhattan Bridge is the suspension bridge over the East River in New York City between Manhattan and Brooklyn, designed with Leon Moisseiff's deflection theory after earlier plans by Richard S. Buck and Gustav Lindenthal, with a main span of about 448 to 451 m and a length of about 2,089 m, which opened to the public on 31 December 1909, the last day of Mayor McClellan's term. The American Society of Civil Engineers' Metropolitan Section says it was completed at a cost of USD 31 million, while Wikipedia gives a final cost of USD 26 million at the opening, when work was still incomplete.
