How much did Motorway 5 cost to build?
Motorway 5, the Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir Motorway or Otoyol 5, is the 426 km toll motorway in Turkey built under a build-operate-transfer model with a 21-year operating period. Astaldi's press release of 5 August 2019 on its inauguration speaks of over 7 billion dollars of investment, says the works took 6.5 years and finished 10 months ahead of the contractual date, with the final section opened on 4 August 2019.
