How much does Multi-slit Solar Explorer cost?

The Multi-slit Solar Explorer (MUSE) is NASA's Heliophysics Medium-class Explorer mission selected on 10 February 2022, a spacecraft with an extreme-ultraviolet multi-slit spectrograph on a 25 cm telescope that will image the Sun's corona at the highest resolution yet to help understand coronal heating and space weather, led by principal investigator Bart De Pontieu of the Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Center, which provides project management, for launch in 2027. NASA announced a mission budget of USD 192 million at selection, and the USD 389.3 million of the earlier snapshot is the current life-cycle cost estimate in GAO's July 2025 assessment of NASA major projects, carried because the report PDF could not be opened.
