How much did Munich Airport cost to build?

Munich Airport (Franz Josef Strauss) is the international hub airport of Bavaria in the Erdinger Moos, which replaced Munich-Riem with an overnight relocation and began operations on 17 May 1992 after ceremonies in the days before. Construction began at the end of 1980, was interrupted by court proceedings until 1985, and the taz reported on 12 May 1992 construction costs of DM 8.5 billion over 18 years. Later expansions such as Terminal 2 (opened 29 June 2003, a project of about EUR 1.6 billion) and its EUR 650 to 900 million satellite are separate.
