Stadium · United States

What did the original Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium cost to build for the 1959 season, excluding later renovations?

Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis was built for the 1959 season and dedicated on 26 September of that year. Naval Academy Athletics states that the original stadium cost $3 million, raised entirely through private contributions. It now seats about 34,000 after later changes. A separate $56 million renovation began in 2002; its cost must not be mixed with the 1959 construction answer.
