What is the revised budget of Padma Bridge?
The Padma Bridge is the 6.15 km multipurpose road and rail bridge over the Padma River in Bangladesh, built by China Major Bridge Engineering from 26 November 2014, inaugurated on 25 June 2022 and opened to traffic on 26 June 2022, entirely funded from the government's budget after the World Bank withdrew. Prothom Alo reported on 22 June 2023 that the project cost rose a fourth time by Tk 1,117 crore to a total of Tk 32,605 crore, after Tk 30,193 crore, which Banglapedia and Wikipedia give as the construction cost.
