How much did Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station cost to build?

The Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station is a single-unit CANDU nuclear plant of about 660 MW on the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick, built by AECL for NB Power from 1 May 1975 and commissioned on 1 February 1983. Wikipedia gives its cost as CAD 1.4 billion in 1983 dollars, a figure that no independent source opened confirms, while The Globe and Mail notes that its later refurbishment began in March 2008 with an initial budget of CAD 845 million and returned the reactor to service in November 2012, three years late and massively over budget.
