What is the approved budget of Stad Ship Tunnel?

The Stad Ship Tunnel is a planned 1,700-metre ship tunnel, 50 metres high and 36 metres wide, through the Stad Peninsula in Norway from Kjødepollen in Vanylvsfjorden to Moldefjorden near Selje, which would be the world's first full-scale ship tunnel. Stortinget approved a cost frame (P85) of NOK 8,588 million including VAT on 19 June 2026, and the Norwegian Coastal Administration signed a turnkey contract with AF Gruppen of about NOK 5.6 billion excluding VAT on 17 August 2026. Construction is planned to start in early 2027 and take about five years.
