How much did the new Stadion an der Hafenstraße in Essen cost to build?

The Stadion an der Hafenstraße in Essen, Germany, is the roughly 20,000-capacity home of Rot-Weiss Essen and SGS Essen, built to replace the Georg-Melches-Stadion with groundbreaking on 1 April 2011 and opening on 12 August 2012, and owned by the city's property company GVE Grundstücksverwaltung Stadt Essen. The GVE describes it as a EUR 64 million new building, and the city council decided in July 2026 to raise the budget of a separate corner-closing expansion from EUR 27 million to EUR 33.8 million, with building from autumn 2026 to 2028.
