How much does State Route 520 bridge replacement and corridor program cost?
The SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program is the Washington State Department of Transportation's multi-phase rebuild of the State Route 520 corridor across Lake Washington between Seattle and the Eastside, including the new Evergreen Point Floating Bridge (opened spring 2016, the longest floating bridge in the world), Eastside HOV lanes, lids, a bicycle and pedestrian path and the Rest of the West program between I-5 and the bridge. WSDOT's program page gives a total cost of USD 5.69 billion funded by federal grants of USD 1.12 billion, a federal loan of USD 0.30 billion, state funds of USD 4.25 billion and USD 0.02 billion of local funds, with work running from 2011 to 2031 and the final Seattle improvements due in 2029.
