What is the approved budget of strait of Messina Bridge?

The Strait of Messina Bridge is a planned suspension bridge between Sicily and Calabria, Italy, with a central span of 3,300 m, which would be the longest in the world and was repeatedly proposed, cancelled in 2006 and 2013 and revived in 2023. On 6 August 2025 the interministerial committee CIPESS approved the final design, and the Italian Parliament's research service reports an official project cost of EUR 13.532 billion, fully covered by public funds from the 2024 and 2025 budget laws; Wikipedia adds that Italy's Court of Audit refused to register the resolution on 29 October 2025 and that in February 2026 the government planned a decree keeping the cost at EUR 13.5 billion, so construction has not started.
