What was the 2024 estimated capital cost of the Trans Mountain Expansion Project?
The Trans Mountain Expansion added a second pipeline route and expanded terminals and pumping facilities between Alberta and the Pacific coast. In an October 2024 regulatory filing, Trans Mountain Corporation estimated the expansion at C$34.5 billion. The figure is for the expansion, not the 1953 pipeline or the federal purchase of the existing system.
