Tunnel · Sweden

How much does Västlänken cost?

Västlänken (the West Link) is a railway line of about 8 km, with a little over 6 km in tunnel beneath central Gothenburg and three new underground stations at Göteborg Central, Haga and Korsvägen, being built by Trafikverket as part of the Västsvenska paketet. Construction started in 2018; Göteborg Central is due to open as a terminal in December 2026 and the whole line probably in 2030. In September 2025 Trafikverket put the forecast cost at SEK 49.3 billion in current prices, and terminated the Korsvägen contract with the WLC consortium.
