Stadium 路 United States

How much did it cost to build Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia?

Veterans Stadium was a city-owned multi-purpose stadium in South Philadelphia that opened on 10 April 1971 as the home of the Phillies and, from September 1971, the Eagles. Philadelphia voters approved a USD 25 million bond issue in 1964 and a further USD 13 million in 1967 after cost overruns; ground was broken on 2 October 1967, and sources put the final cost between USD 63 and 65 million, with lower figures of USD 45 to 52 million in some references. The 65,000-seat octorad-shaped stadium was closed in 2003 and demolished on 21 March 2004.
