How much does Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing cost?
The Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing is a vegetated bridge over US-101 (the Ventura Freeway) near Liberty Canyon in Agoura Hills, California, built to let mountain lions and other wildlife cross between the Santa Monica Mountains and the Sierra Madre range. Caltrans builds it in two stages: the bridge over the freeway was finished in June 2025, and the crossing over Agoura Road with habitat restoration followed, with completion targeted for fall 2026. The estimated cost rose from about $92 million to about $114 million, funded by public conservation money and private donors including the Annenberg Foundation.
