How much does Wilburton Trestle cost?

The Wilburton Trestle is a 1,000-foot (305 m) wooden railway trestle in Bellevue, Washington, built in 1904 and described as the longest wooden trestle in the Pacific Northwest, which King County is converting into a trail bridge for the 42-mile Eastrail. The conversion adds an 18–20 ft wide trail surface, railings and three viewing platforms about 100 ft above ground, and links to Sound Transit's Wilburton light rail station on the 2 Line. Work began in June 2024 at $37 million, rose to $43.5 million after crews found widespread rot and failing hardware, and opening is expected in 2027.
