How much does the expansion of William P. Hobby Airport cost?

William P. Hobby Airport, Houston's oldest commercial airport, is building a $470 million expansion of its West Concourse, originally built by Southwest Airlines in 2015 and used for over 90 percent of its flights. The work adds seven gates (from 5 to 12), a cross-belt baggage-handling system with two more carousels, a star-themed canopy over the departure curb and a refurbished baggage claim. Hensel Phelps builds it to a Corgan design; ground was broken on 20 November 2024, the structure topped out in autumn 2025 and completion is targeted for 2027.
